Chloe’s mom: Mary Ann Shao
Chloe was 9 weeks old when Mary Ann’s son discovered her, along with two other kittens, living under a trailer in a dirty trailer park. The family believes that they were feral and that the mother gave birth to them under the shelter of the trailer. Thankfully, the other two kittens found a home with the friend of Mary Ann’s son.
Chloe was very sickly so they took her to the vet where she was dewormed. It took her quite a while to want to eat again. Chloe had to be given appetite enhancing cat food, and lots of TLC, to finally get her to eat. They named her Chloe, but Mary Ann tells us that the name Spunky would have best suited her as she turned out to be the most lively, playful kitten ever! Chloe had the heart of an outdoor adventurer and was happiest when allowed to roam around the garden, supervised of course, due to the threat of coyotes from the nearby park. Chloe was an agile jumper and climber. She especially liked to climb the redbud tree in the garden. She was also one of the most intelligent cats Mary Ann has ever known. She could open doors and her Tupperware kibble box if it wasn’t tightly sealed. She was also very loving to a certain few people and didn’t trust anyone else, which may have come from her feral nature and rough start in life. She was a very loving and beloved companion.
Proceeds from the sale of Chloe’s shirt will go to C&W Rustic Hollow Shelter in Nashua, Iowa. You can learn more about them at http://www.rustichollowshelter.org/
