Buddy’s mom: Michelle DeMarie
Buddy’s previous owner would allow him free reign of her yard at all hours and he started chasing bicycles and joggers-most likely out of boredom, and for the “sport’ of it. Unfortunately, things went very wrong when he bit a bicyclist and he was then impounded by the city at a local vet clinic. His owner was given the opportunity to either install a fence or tether him in order to prevent future issues but declined to do so and relinquished him to the city. One of the stipulations of the court order was that he couldn’t remain within city limits if/when adopted. Thankfully one of the vet technicians who worked at the clinic where he was kenneled fell in love with him and reached out to area rescue groups hoping to find one that could take him. His time was running out – without finding an adopter soon, he would likely have been euthanized. Fortunately, the rescue group that Michelle volunteered for posted him on their private foster page and he looked to be a good fit as a temporary foster in their home. Little did they know that Buddy would wiggle his way into their hearts and make it impossible for them to give him up! Buddy became an official fur kid in September of 2018 and Michelle’s family can’t imagine life without this happy, special boy!
